Beauty Blogger Award Nomination!

HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!

I hope you’re all excited for your weekend plans! Whether you are getting hit with a snow storm (me), have lots of plans or have the Netflix and chill agenda, I hope you’ll enjoy it 🙂

On Monday I was nominated by Sarah at lifewithlilred for the Beauty Blogger Award! Thank you, Sarah, for the nomination! Sarah and I have followed one another’s blogs for a short time, but I can say that she’s pretty awesome and funny. Plus, she’s involved with Special Olympics like myself!

The Rules:

Tag and thank who nominated you.

Respond to the questions that your nominator gave you.

Nominate 10 new beauty/fashion bloggers.

Create 10 new questions for these bloggers to answer.

Tell the blogger that you nominated them.

My Questions From Sarah:

What is your favorite beauty item that you treat yourself with? Sunday Riley skin care. That’s definitely a ‘treat myself’ item/range. I typically use household items, so Sunday Riley is a total splurge!

What was one of your worst fashion or beauty moments? I didn’t start wearing mascara until my senior year of high school. I’ve been using liquid eye liner since I was in middle school, so the look is quite funny and not flattering when I see those photos of my liquid eyeliner and no mascara!

If you could raid one celebrity’s wardrobe, who would it be? Kerry Washington

Would you rather wear the same outfit every day for a week or not wear makeup for a month? Not wear make-up for a month!

Bubble baths or long showers? I’m 5’9, so I need to make sure the bath is long enough to fit my limbs! A long shower is my reality.

Did someone teach you how to wear makeup or did you learn how to do it on your own? I grew up watching my grandmothers and my mom put on make-up and then I had to just start applying it when I was a competitive baton twirler. Because of watching at such a young age and then putting it on for competitions, I became really interested in looking at make-up books/magazines and watching ladies at the make-up counter put make-up on other people. When I was 14 my mom bought me a 10 year subscription to Vogue and started reading even more about applying make-up!

What is your favorite makeup or clothing store to score a bargain? In Philadelphia we had a store called Daffy’s and I’d find EVERYTHING in there. It was basically an off the rack kind of store, but depending upon the day I’d score some amazing items. Two years(?) ago it closed down. Haven’t found anything comparable.

What was your favorite fashion or beauty moment? Senior Prom. So many girls had their dresses made and they went all out. I went to Macy’s and bought a black strapless dress with a white band across the top, wore my pearls, red lipstick, smokey eye and didn’t even spend $50! So many girls who I overheard talking about their dress fittings and picking out this fabric and that necklace had complimented my dress and it made me feel awesome. I just went with a classic look. Side note: some of those tailor made dresses weren’t that great!

How would you describe your style? Dress casual. I love my jeans and t-shirts/comfy shirts and dressing them up with accessories or a good blazer/fancy hoodie/pair of shoes.

Everyone has a color that just looks perfectly awful on them. What color is that for you? What about the color that looks best on you? Baby blue or powder blue. I can’t wear it. A deep, rich teal is a color I gravitate to and always receive compliments when I wear that color.

I’ve nominated the following three bloggers:

Carlynn

Adryana’s Beauty Blog

Chloe P

(I’m only nominating three!)

Here are your questions:

What is the one skin care item you can’t go without?

If you could only take 10 items in a make-up bag for a weekend away, what would you take with you?

Did you grow-up watching someone in your family put on make-up? Did they influence your interest in make-up or how you apply it?

If you could only wear lip stick or chap stick for the rest of your life, which would you choose?

Skirt or pants? or dress?

How much time do you generally spend getting ready in the mornings? Would you say you’re ‘high maintenance’ in that area?

Who do you most look forward to seeing walk down the red carpet every year?

Do you prefer to keep buying new make up and having a decent sized rotation or do you prefer to use up your products before buying new ones?

Tightlining: yay or nay?

A big debate between myself and roommates (this conversation never ends!): Wax or shave your legs?

Here’s a bonus weird one: do you keep the plastic film/disc on your face cream product(s) or toss it because you have the lid/cap?!
