How to fix damaged hair?

I put that as a question because I’ve never had to fix damaged hair before and I’m trying! Last February I went blonde and then blonder in May. The right side of my head, which is the side with more layers due to the longer length, has experienced serious breakage. Even though the left side is shorter it has more hair!

I went to see my stylist, Tiffany, who also noticed the breakage and she did a conditioning treatment to help it out; however, I need to follow up with a lot of TLC at home.

I have been using the Nourishing Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum in my hair as a conditioning treatment for several years now. I massage it into my scalp, concentrate on my end, and then go for the in between. Ever since doing this I’ve experienced a lot of regrowth, my hair is EXTREMELY soft the next day, I don’t use a smoothing product and it transforms my hair. The only con is that is lasts for about a day for me.

Fortunately, not long after getting my hair cut I checked the sales on Ulta’s website and they had a sale on Organix products. I came across this brand in Target over the summer, a 3 for 3 sale, and instantly loved the products! So, I bought more than enough from Ulta because I am on a conditioning/moisturizing/repairing mission!

I bought the Renewing Argan Oil Of Morocco Intense Moisturizing Treatment, Hydrate + Repair Argan Oil of Morocco Miracle In Shower Oil, Anti-Breakage Keratin Oil Instant Repair Weightless Healing Oil and Renewing Argan Oil Of Morocco Extra Strength Penetrating Oil Dry, Coarse Hair.

Every morning I add a few drops of the Hydrate + Repair Argan Oil to either my shampoo or conditioner. Some mornings I’ve put drops in both. I have noticed a difference in the texture of my hair after I get out of the shower. It definitely hydrates and repairs! I’ve been using the Coconut milk strengthening serum since over the summer and after putting that on my wet hair I’ll add the Anti-Breakage Keratin Oil over top. Surprisingly, using both of the products does not weigh down my hair. I was concerned about the combination being too much product for my hair and having greasy hair, but it’s the perfect combination!

Every two or three days I use the Intense Moisturizing Treatment. I put that in my hair for about 15 minutes and get other things done in the mean time.

I use the other argan oil for dry course hair when I let my hair go curly. I put that in my hair and then the Wen Lavender Styling Cream before using my diffuser.

I’ve since gone back to being brunette and said goodbye to the blonde locks.

WOMP. WOMP.

I mentioned my debate on getting a lob and cutting out the damaged side of my hair to get a full head of healthier hair, but I’m having issues with chopping that much off.

Have you ever experienced damage to your hair? How did you help it out? Have you gone blonde or colored your hair too much and have this happen? What products work best for you?
